The 46th United Nations General Assembly Session in 1991 saw the first presentation of a Draft Resolution against the blockade by Cuba. This would later be withdrawn due to the United States’ pressure on many countries.
During the 47th Plenary Session, the draft was presented for second time in the UN and submitted to the vote of every member state in those days. Since that initiation in 1992 to this day, the Draft Resolution against the blockade has been presented and put to the vote in the UN every year, gaining greater support by the international community through the years.
