At times of the worst phase of the Covid-19 pandemic in Cuba, the lifting of the US blockade would be clearly the most rational and humanitarian action, CovertAction magazine commented in its Friday edition.

Cuba's Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez thanked the ALBA-TCP member states for their support in the struggle against the U.S. blockade on Cuba, which for nearly six decades has caused the island damages estimates at 147,853 million dollars.

Former Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva repudiated this Thursday the US blockade against Cuba, condemned for the twenty-ninth time in the United Nations, with the support of 184 votes of its member states.

"A resounding victory! The cynical, lying and slanderous imperial discourse is as immoral, shameless and obsolete as the criminal blockade," said Miguel Díaz-Canel, First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, after the results of the voting in the United Nations against the unilateral policy were announced.

The initiatives to demand the end of the United States blockade against Cuba will continue next Sunday with a new caravan in the US city of Miami, solidarity organizations said on Wednesday.

The Russian Foreign Ministry on Thursday reported the US vote against the resolution presented at the UN for the lifting of the blockade against Cuba showed Washington's destructive, unfair and illegitimate Cuba policy.

Cuba strongly rejected the reasons used by the U.S. representative at the United Nations General Assembly to justify its vote against the resolution demanding the lifting of the blockade that Washington has exerted on the island for six decades.

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro hailed Cuba's triumph at the U.N., where 184 nations supported its resolution on the need to end the U.S. blockade against the island.

International Community overwhelmingly approves Resolution at UN requesting the end of US blockade on Cuba

The International Community once again overwhelming stood behind Cuba’s plight demanding the lifting of the six-decade-long US blockade on the island.

For the 29th   occasion, the UN General Assembly voted the Resolution Necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial embargo imposed by the United States of America against Cuba.

The resolution was adopted by184    votes in favor,  2  against United States, Israel, and  3  abstentions.

Since 1991, the Cuban government has submitted to the United Nations General Assembly the draft resolution "Necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial embargo of the United States of America against Cuba", which every year receives the support of the international community.
